Atlantic CIty Gym Meet

This weekend we drove out on Friday to make sure we got to Atlantic City for your gym meet at the ISAIGC Dynamo Gymnastics Training Center.  This will sadly be one of the last before we move to LA.  It's amazing how you've grown and progressed as a gymnast over the last few years.  In the very beginning you were always so frustrated because you couldn't do cartwheels and tumbles. You went through some tough times where you didn't really want to do it anymore and we can understand why.  It's a tough sport.  You've been hurt a number of times and you even competed this weekend with blisters on your palms.  But you stuck with it.  And we are very proud of that.  More than your scores we're proud you stuck with it.

Each meet you've progressively become a better gymnast.  Not just in relation to how you were but compared to the other gymnasts.  This last meet was easily your best.  You scored near 9s on all your events.  Usually you've had one event where you didn't do well.  This time you did well on all.  We even practiced visualizing the event before you did the event for real.  For whatever reason you did very well.  Here are you scores.

Vault - 8.925
Bars - 8.925
Beam - 8.900
Floor - 9.000

Unfortunately they screwed up the awards ceremony.  We aren't really sure how you did and I'm pretty sure you received less medals and lower places than in reality.  I'm sure you got first place in the bars but you didn't receive a medal for that at all.  Oh well.  Doesn't matter.  Still did well.

We spent the rest of the time walking around Atlantic City which isn't really a kids town.  But it was fun to see the bright and shiny lights and walk near the beach.
