Today we got up early to take you to a gymnastics meet in Staten Island. The south part so it was a bit of a drive. We were all tired. You yawned during most of the meet. This was your second meet. The first one you were nervous and scared and teary. This one you were fine. I walked you over to the place where you team was and we waited for you to start.
Overall you had a great meet. You improved your total score by quite a bit. You finished 6th place overall in your age group and did particularly well on the beam. But most improved was the bar even though they gave you a lower score. The bar is the hardest of all the routines and you are pretty close to being able to do it well. Also your bridge kick-over on the floor routine is pretty effortless now. You used to have a lot of problems with that.
Overall you won 4 medals - 3 for Floor, Beam, and Vault and one for Overall.
More importantly you really had fun and enjoyed competing.
Mommy got your a colorful windmill and some candy after the meet. You were quite upset we didn't get you anything the first time because all the other girls got something. You were very disappointed. But we didn't know the parents were supposed to get you anything.
