Happy Sixth Birthday Sophia

Well there have been a lot of festivities but today is your REAL birthday. No parties today. But you did have some fun.
  1. Mommy made cupcakes yesterday and brought them to school for your whole class to enjoy. Unlike other years we didn't come to celebrate. I guess that stops in Kindergarten. I'm sure you had fun.
  2. You had gymnastics today and FINALLY were able to do a "bridge-kickover" all by yourself. This has been the one thing you've had problems with for a long time and have been working hard to fix. Today you finally did it without any help. (Here's a video of a girl doing one in case you've forgotten what that is. The bridge-kickover is the second thing she does where she's bent backwards on all fours and jumps her feet over her head and stands up)
  3. We went for sushi at your request at Blue Ribbon Sushi near gymnastics.  Your favorites were the mushroom tempura, uni gunkanmaki, and masago gunkamaki with quail egg.  You didn't think much of the jellyfish or the hijiki seaweed but you tried them.
  4. You opened your presents from us and the rest of our family.  You received a lot of games which mommy and I are excited about, a gigantic puzzle, a robot movie and some projects.  Pretty good swag.
