Today is Christmas Day.
As usual you were in our bed at some point in the night so we all woke up together. After some chatting I decided to get you guys motivated to go out and check Santa's handiwork.
As has happened for, I think, all our Christmas mornings, there was an undue amount of distraction and a decided lack of present opening going on. This year there was an obsession with the separation and relocation of all the presents. Let's get one thing clear. Santa is meticulous about his present delivering. All presents have and will be in the future, thoroughly sorted by name and placed appropriately. Really. You guys can just find your stash and start tearing presents open next year. Please.
It seems like both of you must have been pretty good. I think Santa delivered most of the toys you asked for. The big hits were the Marbulous, the glow stick writing tablets, a Toy Story 3 train, and board games. The really big hit though was the Xbox Kinect which is a gaming peripheral for the Xbox that allows you to interact with a game without a controller. It was funny to see people jumping around. Mommy got me a nice collection of kitchen things and I got mommy four photo books for 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. I guess we know what she's getting next year.
For the rest of the day you all played with your toys while mommy kept you entertained and I cooked in the kitchen. We had the usual for dinner - Standing rib roast, potatoes (twice-baked potatoes with bacon and fontina cheese), roasted crimini, chanterelle, and oyster mushrooms, sauteed broccoli. For dessert I made a blackberry pie and a berry trifle.
Unfortunately just as we got about halfway through our dinner, Caden, who had been horsing around at the dinner table, fell and somehow got a nasty cut at the base of his... important bit. He was lucky yhe didn't lose the whole thing. That put a bit of a damper on the rest of the evening. He stopped crying after a while but you couldn't stop crying. You hate blood!
