Brooklyn Bridge Park Benefit

This evening we headed over to a party in our neighborhood. They are converting some old warehouse and port piers into a huge park. It will take a while to get completed but it should be beautiful eventually. Right now though it is still a pier.

There was music and some fun activities for kids.

And the mayor of New York, Mike Bloomberg, stopped by for a photo op.

Even though the park wasn't finished it had a nice view of the Statue of Liberty and the southern part of Manhattan.

A fire boat came by to spray water out of its hoses. All the kids loved that.
