Daddy Daughter Weekend - Sat

Mommy and Caden are away this week. So we had the whole weekend to ourselves. It started on Friday when we made Rice Krispie Treats and counted the money you have been saving. We found you had $25.30. Not bad. The reason we counted is we decided to go out the next day and buy something with it.

After sleeping in a little we headed out on the F Train.

First up was breakfast at Grey Dog Coffee in the West Village.  On the way there you were on my head and I was rocking back and forth and you said, "Daddy.  You're driving me crazy.  But that's okay."  I thought that was funny.  It was actually a really good breakfast although there wasn't really wait staff.  You order at the coffee bar.

Then we headed to Astor Haircut to get daddy a haircut.  It was getting a little shaggy.

Then the big event.  We headed to Toys R Us.  It's a big store.  They had a ferris wheel in side and this giant moving tyrannosaurus rex.

You were a little scared.

I don't think he can see us down here.

You wanted to buy the first thing you saw.  But I kept forcing you to go through the entire store.  You eventually settled on a Barbie doll which looks like a fairy.  And a My Little Pony DVD.  I made you give the cashier the toys and made you give her the money and you got the change back.  Your first real purchase.

After that we walked up to my office and relaxed for a bit. Had some water and juice and a muffin and regrouped.  We then took a taxi up to the Conservancy Water which is where the model boats float.

This was one of the nicest ones but we also liked a pirate ship that was on the water too.

Then we decided to go out on a rowboat instead of watching boats.  At first you didn't want to go and I almost gave up.  But then you said wanted to go.  We rowed around the lake passing by this public area with a fountain.  It was a lot of fun.

There was even a gondola.  The guy sailing the gondola was also singing.  You thought that was funny.

Then you wanted to climb.  We climbed on some rocks for a while and then on this Alice in Wonderland statue.  All the kids loved it.

Then you got something yucky in your mouth.  I think a bug flew in.  Yuck.

Then we headed to the Met.  I wanted to show you the Arms and Armor section.  And we also went into the store there and bought a crafts set to make necklaces and bracelets.

Then outside we had a hot dog.  You actually dropped the first one into a puddle before you had one bite.  You held onto the second one for dear life.  Then we head over to Lobels to pick up some bacon, sausages, and pork chops for tomorrow.  And then headed home.  It was a long, but fun day!
