Battery Park

Mommy had a gift certificate to a nice restaurant down in Battery Park so we went for lunch there today. It had a nice outdoor seating area where we could see the Statue of Liberty. Do you see her?

You guys were more interested in fighting over who owned which car. "Mine."

We had a nice lunch but we were more interested in eating outside and enjoying the nice beginning to the summer.

And mommy couldn't resist some ice cream at the end. Mango (your new favorite fruit) and vanilla.

Then we went to play in the fountains. But alas there weren't turned on yet. Bummer. We ran around for a while instead. That red brick building is a military installation called a battery; hence the name of the park.

You ran around too but took a break from the heat.

Then we decided to jump on the Staten Island Ferry. It's free so it's a nice way to see the area.

Here's the ferry. They are all orange.

This is looking back at the island of Manhattan from the south. Battery Park is on the left and the ferry port is on the right.

It was a nice boat ride and it cooled us all off after being in the sun.

You took a little break.

While I made Caden laugh.

After a while he just wanted to be cool.

You got your second wind and showed off by balancing on the benches.

On the way back we passed by Lady Liberty. Lots of boats were on the water.

After we got home we all took a little nap and then went out to Koreatown for some barbecued meat. Yum yum.
