After cooking class, we went to Chinatown Brasserie for dim sum to celebrate Dublin’s first birthday. As we walked down the stairs, both Caden and you were intrigued by all of the koi fish.

I work with Dublin’s parents, David and Carley, who also live in our neighborhood so we see them often. Nice family shot!

Several times we thought Caden might go swimming with the fish!

While the moms and dads enjoyed cocktails, the kids enjoyed face painting by Christine; Dublin’s grandpa also wrote people’s name in Chinese calligraphy on red paper.

You were so excited to have your face and hands painted – you had pink flowers painted on your face as well as the Chinese characters for love on your hand.

While you had your face painted, Caden played with the magician Max.

Today you were seated at the kids’ table with several older girls instead of with Mommy and Daddy. You were so proud to eat all by yourself – and with chopsticks too!

After the kids finished eating, the magician Max performed his magic show. Unfortunately we had to leave early for the Family Concert at your school, but you did not want to leave. I tried to pick you up, but you swirmed away and told me you wanted to stay. Daddy and Caden already left the building, so I walked up the stairs and eventually you came upstairs too. What a fun birthday party!
