Yellow Room Afterschool Playdate

After school, I met you at the Children's Museum of Arts in Soho which is only two blocks away from my office. You took the subway with Carter, her mom Karen and a few other classmates. First we ate some lunch in the lobby before heading into the museum.

First stop was the ball pond downstairs. You had fun tossing the big balls and jumping around pretending monsters were chasing you.

Watch out!

Next stop was the clay area - you had fun with your classmates smooshing up the molding clay and learning how to make a rocket ship.

You made a blue rocket ship while I made a pink elephant (go to the end to find out what happened to my pink elephant that night).

After clay, it was painting time - you painted the entire sheet with red paint.

Even I enjoyed painting a rainbow.

Last stop was the light table - you enjoyed playing with the legos and stacking shapes on the light table with Carter and Arla. What fun.

After the playdate, we walked to my office so that you could see where I worked and so that I could introduce you (it took some bribery, a lollipop, to convince you to come to the office). After a quick walk-through, we took a taxi home so that I could drop you off and go back to work.

When I returned home around 7PM, I was shocked to find out that you DESTROYED my pink elephant and tossed it into the garbage. When I asked what happened, you knew you did something terrible and just started to cry and ran into your bedroom. You refused to talk about it that night - the next day, you confessed to Daddy that you did not like my pink elephant because it looked better than your blue rocket so you threw it away. To make-up, Daddy and you made two elephants out of Play-Doh.
