This week mommy and Caden went to LA leaving us two behind. So I planned a big day for us on Saturday. A Big day!. We got up early. 6:30AM. We had laid out our clothes the day before so we got ready right away. We walked down to the car service around the corner and jumped in a limo to take us to Macy's. Why Macy's? Because I had heard that Santa Claus was going to be there. When we got to Macy's it was pretty quiet. I had expected crowds even at that hour, but it was quiet. I almost thought the store wasn't even open. We ventured up to the eigth floor and were greeted by elves. They led us through 'Santaland'. They had a big talking tree and model trains going around. It was very pretty.
Eventually the elves led us to Santa Claus. You sat up on his knee and he asked you what you wanted and if you were a good girl. You wanted a Sleeping Beauty DVD and a Sleeping Beauty doll. You were a little apprehensive. It was kind of overwhelming to be honst. You were so overwhelmed that you forgot to tell him you were going to get HIM a present. A little doll. You remembered afterwards but I said we could leave the doll for him when he visits. After that we picked up a photo of you and Santa and stopped by Au Bon Pain to get a bagel for breakfast and talk about Santa.
Then we did a little shopping. They had a big toy section with lots of old fashioned toys. We were trying to figure out if the lady on top was real because she looked real.
You loved the wedding dresses too. "So pretty". Unfortunately you only came away with a set of Dora underwear. Oh well.
Then we looked at some of the pretty decorated windows at Macy's outside.
After that we hopped a cab up to Rockefeller Center. On the way there we stopped by a bunch of big Christmas ornaments in front of a building. They were huge!
Then we went to the main area to see the tree. "That's a big tree", you said.
We then stopped by my office to warm up. It was a cold day. We got you some orange juice and looked out the window into Central Park.
While I made some calls to friends we were going to meet, you watched a Disney movie on the iPhone.
Then we walked up to FAO Schwarz. It was so busy. There was a line around the block. I eventually decided to just wait and the line moved pretty quickly. Inside it was a zoo. Tons of people shopping. We went to see their expensive dolls and see the big stuffed animals. Your favorite was the giant piano keyboard that kids got to jump on to make music. After that we popped into the Apple store but it was too busy but you enjoyed the glass elevator and jumping around the big Apple cube.
Then we went to Central Park to hang in the zoo and wait for my friend Cem and his daughter Layla. We watched the sea lions as we waited.
Our friends arrived and we went through to see all the animals. You had more fun running around with Layla.
While that was going on they were feeding the sea lions. This one had to give the zookeeper a kiss before he got his fish.
It had already been a big day so you were due for a pouty session.
After that we went off to go to the Merry-go-round and meet up with my other friend Eric and his boy Anthony.
We met up with everyone and took a few rides on the merry-go-round. Then we walked through the park and decided we were all getting very cold.
So we headed over the upper west side and went into a Starbucks for a round of hot chocolate. That made us all feel better. That's Anthony on your left just out of view.
After that we still weren't done. We hopped in another cab and headed back to my office to relax and take a bathroom break and rehydrate. You love the new touchscreens in the cab.
Then we hopped the F train down to a sushi place in the lower east side and had some dinner. You had some seaweed salad, warm tofu in a dressing, some cold soba noodles in a cold broth, and some ikura maki (salmon eggs). You love ikura and soba noodles.
Next we headed over to a pastry store and bought some cupcakes to take home with us. You were very adamant about making sure we had some for Caden and Mommy. And that was it. We relaxed at home and called it a day.
