Tonight when you went to bed we did your usual set of ablutions. Brushed your teeth. Put on your diaper. And read from daddy's book. Daddy's book is what you call the book that I'm using to teach you to read. It has 100 lessons. We started quite a while ago but most nights we get a lesson in.
Tonight was special because you finished the book. You can essentially now read. You're still limited to fairly easy words of 8 letters or less but you can read a full short story. We are all quite proud of this accomplishment because you are only 3 and 1/2.
As a present for your hard work you got a My Little Pony that sings songs. You also get a free book next time we're at a bookstore. When you can read that one you get a new one and so on.
