Fire Island

This weekend we went with Toshi and Nicole to Fire Island. It's a little island located south of Long Island. We had to drive out east on Long Island and then take a ferry out to this wide and short island. It's only about 3 blocks from the north beach to the south beach.

We met Toshi and Nicole at the ferry terminal and took the ferry over. We then stopped off for a quick breakfast and headed out to the beach. The water was very cold but it was a very hot day. Sophia, you splashed in the water and picked up shells and polished rocks and Caden, you just slept in mommy's baby bjorn.

After we walked down the beach we walked inland and took a break in the shade. Sophia, you lounged on the deck while we shared a cold beverage.

Then we headed to the Sunken Forest. The inland section of the island is almost like a marsh. We walked around the forest and watched the squirrels and then decided to head back and grab the ferry home. We were exhausted from all the walking.

When we made it back we drove to a cute little seaside town and had an early dinner.
