Nantucket Library

Since it was overcast this morning, we walked to the Library in Town to meet Patty and her family. Before leaving the house, we took a few pictures. Our rental house is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage on the edge of Town. Upstairs, you are sharing a room with two twin beds with Girlie while Caden and I sleep in the master bedroom. Downstairs is the kitchen and living room - it is a cute, comfortable cottage for the four of us. In Nantucket, you don't really need a car if you are staying near Town. Our house is a ten minute walk to Town (0.5 mile) and another 10 minutes to Children's Beach (1 mile).

After breakfast at home, we met Patty at the Childrens Library - the sun was still not out, so we decided to walk to Patty's house in Bryant Point so that you could play with her sons (Max who is 5 and Jake who just turned 2). While the kids played with Go Fish cards, Chutes & Ladders, Thomas the Train, and Cars toys, Patty and I chatted; I last saw Patty in London in January when we casually talked about meeting in Nantucket over the summer. Marcela, who is the nanny for Max and Jake, was busy preparing lunch and baking Dinosaur cookies for the kids while Girlie fed Caden a bottle. Unfortunately you were in a cranky mood (probably still tired from all of the traveling); you refused to sit at the table to eat lunch with Max and Jake. Instead you just wanted to play with all of their toys. You started to cry several times - even with Girlie around which is unusual. Finally when pasta was offered, you took the bait.

After lunch, you chased Max around the kitchen. Jake went down for a nap after lunch so we decided to head home so that you could nap too. We first walked back to the library so that we could check out a few books and DVDs. I also bought some sushi take-out for lunch. While you napped for two hours, Girlie watched a movie and I fed Caden (again).

Now it feels like we are on vacation. CapeAir also found your stroller bag and delivered it to our house. We decided to stay in tonight and relax at home since Girlie thought Caden was running a fever. While Girlie watched Caden, we walked to Town to buy some medicine for Caden and to pick up some dinner for Girlie. We also browsed some of the cute shops along Main Street and shared a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yummy!

Tomorrow we plan to meet Patty at Children's Beach - we'll find some seashells to bring home to Daddy!.
