Seaweed Soup & White Kimchee

Last night, our friend May dropped off some seaweed soup (mee-yuk gook), white rice and white kimchee - these are the traditional Korean foods for new mothers who are breastfeeding. There is some Korean old wives tale which says that if you eat seaweed soup, it will make you produce more breastmilk. I am not sure what the white kimchee does for new moms - I thought new moms were supposed to avoid cabbage since it often makes newborns gassy? We enjoyed soup and rice for breakfast - it was very yummy! A big thank you goes to May's mom who cooked for us especially since Daddy is away in Vancouver this week.
