Santa in Dumbo

Today some friends came to visit us since there was a holiday event with Santa in Dumbo. Aimee and Gregg Munsell and their kids Jeffrey (4 years old) and Caroline (8 months) came over around 3:30PM and we walked to the Powerhouse Bookstore. There were so many families there!

We caught the end of the book readings. Jeffrey was interested in hearing the stories. . . .
But you were more interested in climbing up the stairs.
We found a good place to sit since it was very crowded inside with so many kids and parents walking around.
Here is Caroline practicing her walking with her Mommy. She is almost able to walk by herself.
At 4PM, AudraRox performed some songs - your music teacher Jen is in the band and we listen to their CDs at home. It was fun to watch them play live, but it was a bit too loud for the kids (and the parents too). Jen is the one wearing the red Felix the Cat t-shirt.
We bumped into many of your playmates who live in the neighborhood. Here are Havana, Cairo, Maya and a few others.
When our ears started ringing, we decided to meet the Munsells in the park - you had fun chasing after Jeffrey. When we were inside, we tied a pink balloon to your pants. When Daddy tried to untie the balloon, it flew away and went high, high, high up into the sky and over the Manhattan Bridge.

When the parents got too cold, we walked to our apartment to warm up and hang out before our dinner reservations. Jeffrey and Caroline were excited to play with all of your toys - luckily, you are good at sharing. Caroline practiced her walking by using your toy stroller while Jeffrey cleaned our living room with your toy vaccuum.

We had an early dinner at Five Front - the kids shared chicken fingers with fries, pasta with butter and parmesan cheese, and sauteed veggies. Everyone had a good appetite after running around the park and playing at our apartment. The parents also enjoyed yummy entrees; the food tonight was especially good so maybe they hired a new chef?

When dinner was over, everyone was sad that the weekend was over! When we came home, you watched the Elmo Potty DVD - Daddy was exhausted so he crawled into bed (yes at 7:45PM!). Around 8PM, we read a few books while you drank some milk and then you fell asleep easily when I put your down at 8:30PM. Sweet dreams, Daddy and little miss Sophia.
