Another Lazy Saturday

It's New Year's weekend - the last few days of 2006. This morning, we went swimming at the YMCA; there was no class but there were several kids in the pool with their parents. Since we missed swim class for the last two weekends and since it was not too cold outside, we went swimming this morning. You used to get excited about swimming, but lately you have been kicking and screaming whenever we try to change you into your swim suit. I knew once we were out of the house you would be fine.

At the pool, we played with another 2-year old Julia and her Daddy - they were from Australia. Julia was just as brave as you were jumping into the water. Julia was also a good swimmer and could do the doggy-paddle without holding onto her Daddy. I think you are close to learning how to swim on your own but you still don't like to dunk your head underwater.

After swim class, you were hungry and exhausted. You passed out on the bed with Daddy after lunch. Notice that you are wearing a Stanford t-shirt - Daddy went to grad school at Stanford and Mommy went to undergrad at UC Berkeley, which are rival universities in Northern California. We'll see where you end up when you're ready for college. . .
