Central Park & FAO

Today we both got up very early. At 6:30 I woke up because I was cold. I was worried you would be cold too so I went to bring you into my bed. This of course sort of woke you up. You never could quite back to sleep and ended up walking around the house as I was in a daze. Since we were up early I decided to take you out to Central Park for the day. We left the house about 7:30 and took the F train up to 57th and walked over to the park.
"Come on dad. Let's a get a move on."

The first place we went is the playground area where there is a water park. It was dead. There were only a few other parents and kids there. You had fun on the swings as usual.

There was a nice view from the swings of a tunnel that we later went through.

Eventually some kids came over to our area and you wanted to follow them as you normally do. The were bigger and climbed up this embankment very quickly.

You were slower but you made it!

After that we went over to the sand playground.

You brushed the sand off the slides.

You then noticed you brushed it all over your coat, pants, and shoes. You're a bit of a neat freak so this upset you greatly and I had to help you brush it off. Eventually you figured out you could do it by yourself.

Another nice girl and mother came over and you two hit it off. You went to collect leaves for her. Her mother was very impressed at how nice you were.

She was a very chatty girl. You're pretty quiet these days but she was blah blah blah the whole time. She didn't know many words but that didn't slow her down. She even posed nicely for me while you were playing in the background.

After that we ate some tofu. The other girl shared a few cubes too. Her mother was so surprised she would eat tofu. She was thrilled that she found a new healthy snack for her baby.

After that we walked over to the ice skating rink that recently opened. It was quite pretty and there were some very good skaters who were very young girls. Maybe you'll take lessons when you get older.

We then found an area where there were 15 dogs or so congregated. One of them (tiny) loved coming up to you and sniffing your face. This would make you laugh and laugh. Then we walked a little farther and found the carousel! We went on that ride not once, not twice, but three times in a row. You still flailed and screamed when we got off. I quickly took you to see the horses just up the hill.

You parked yourself on the little curb on the left and stayed there for 20 minutes watching the horses go by and naming the colors of all the runners going by.

We then went over to FAO Schwartz. It was just opening so we waited outside to avoid the lines at the front.

The Apple store had colored their apple red for a promotional event that was going on.

It's right next to the GM building. Makes for some nice architecture pictures.

You spotted me and I spotted you in this reflection. You can see the store down below.

A security guard for Apple then yelled at us for being in a 'moat' like region near the glass. Put some signs up if you don't want people to walk there. You then played leap frog with little metal studs that surrounded the building.

After that we went into the toy store. We already have pictures from there so I didn't take any more. We played with a lot of stuffed animals and you loved these puzzle games where you put puzzle shapes into a frame. After the toy store we grabbed the F train back home. I gave you some milk and sat you on my lap facing out. After a few minutes I noticed you weren't drinking anymore and realized you had fallen asleep.

As I walked you home with your head on my shoulder you woke up. You started laughing your head off because I don't think you meant to fall asleep. After that I couldn't get you down for your nap. You only slept for 20 minutes max on the subway.

You also didn't eat much all day. Just one container of tofu and some milk. Finally at 3 or 4 you had a huge helping of chicken pesto pasta. But you never did go down. Later before bedtime your hunger came on. We had tofu and milk and cheese fish. Lots of everything. I put you down and you were out before I left the room.

This will probably be our last post before mommy gets back. I'm busy all of tomorrow (Girlie is staying late) and by Tuesday night mommy is probably heading home.

Believe it or not, I am still awake - it's 1:30AM here in London. I took a nap this afternoon and now I can't fall asleep. After dinner full of carbs (Indian food), I thought I'd have no trouble sleeping. I finished working and now I really want to go to bed so I am not a zombie tomorrow.

Daddy did a great job with the blogs these last few days - so many photos. How lucky am I! It sure looked like you had a fun weekend hanging out with Daddy. I bet the carousel in Central Park was one of your favorite activities. Lucky girl.

You definitely tired him out today by waking up so early and missing your afternoon nap. Poor Daddy.

I can't wait to see you both on Wednesday. Toot-a-loo!

You can tell your mom is not British. It's toodaloo not tootaloo. She did a good job with the blog as well. We'll have to visit sometime.
