Check out this building across the street filled with graffiti. I think it was intentional instead of vandals.

We also saw an interesting new type of advertising today. It was made with 5 planes jetting out little puffs of smoke at specific times. It eventually spelled out, "Geico New Lower Rates".

We were also doing some silly things with the camera. Here's Toshi's shadow holding up a garbage can.

Here's what it looks like when you walk in. There were some giant tents and on the left there is a wading pool. You are in the middle of the screen and Toshi is just behind the pillar.

Here's a better shot of the wading pool. It was made of plywood with a laminate over the top. It looks like copper.

Of course you wanted to go in.

Here you are posing with Toshi and Mommy.

There was also another wading pool in another section. Some other kids joined you and you kept copying what they were doing.

And Toshi took a shot of the whole family.

And then there was this 'cool' room. Inside, on the wood floor, were huge slabs of ice to keep the room cool. And the walls were made of a silver material to help insulate the cool air.

The whole area had lots of fun little artwork. This sprawled out guy was on the stairs up to the school.

We weren't allowed to take photos inside so I don't have any shots of the artwork. You came in for a while but you kept saying "Nicole" all the time. Mommy eventually took you outside so you could run around and feed you some food. Afterwards we had lunch at a Thai restaurant. You kept saying "Nicole" again to get Nicole's attention.

Afterwards we grabbed some coffee and headed out to the waterfront. You can see New York City on the other side of the water (note we were on the west side of Queens looking at the east side of Manhattan). There was some old loading dock equipment that they had repainted and an old Pepsi-Cola advertising sign. It was a pretty cool area.

Daddy decided to take some artistic shots.

Here's a nice picture of the United Nations building in Manhattan.

You can see the Empire State Building in this shot.

Then you started running up and down the pedestrian pier.

A shot of the family.

And one of Toshi, Nicole, and her friend Terri.

On Sunday we had brunch with Ji Mi at Prune in the LES and then walked around the city to do some shopping. We came back and put you down for your nap and then headed out to the park after you woke up. Here we are at the park. I caught this shot just as you were about to bite it. You weren't hurt though.

See. You got up no problem.

You've become quite the climber. But it's nice to have a little help from mommy.

Here's your model shot with the wind blown hair.

You even navigated your way through this tiny hole all by yourself.

What a fun weekend - you are now sound asleep after running around all day today. Today was a super-long day starting out with our morning run across the Brooklyn Bridge, followed by brunch with Ji Mi and a bit of shopping in So Ho and Chelsea, and ending with some exercise at the park.
Tonight after dinner, we let you watch an Elmo video since you have not seen one in over a week. You were turning into a couch potato and asking for Elmo everyday so we now limit your TV to one or two times per week. It's better for you to read books or play outside.
Sweet dreams, Sophia.
