Heat Wave in NYC

It's been 100+ degrees in New York City this week - today I worked from home since Girlie is on vacation and there was no back-up childcare available. We tried to go to the DMV in Brooklyn this morning with Daddy, but the line was already too long at 8AM. Daddy freaked out and ditched us in line; we left too and strolled home instead of dealing with the crowded subway.

When we got home, you played with your toys and flipped through many books while I worked on a presentation and took a few phone calls. Luckily, you also took a 2 1/2 hour nap after lunch so I could concentrate on my work. When I was done with work, we went to the park when it was much cooler. You had fun playing with the water fountains and chasing after the other kids. If anyone asks, you are wearing the cute outfit that Ji Mi bought you last time we visited her at the Shore.
Then we played on the tire swing and walked around the pirate ship playground. Check out this face as you were climbing out of the tunnel!
After an hour of running around the park, we walked to Almondine to pick up a sandwich. When we got home, I stripped off your wet clothes and fed you dinner. Actually you did a good job feeding yourself with a fork. You also ate some tomatoes and bites of my bread. What an appetite!

After dinner, I gave you a bath and then let you watch Elmo for 30 minutes before bedtime since you were such a good girl today. If you could, you would watch Dora or Elmo every single day, but I am limiting you to watching TV only once or twice per week.
