Daddy's Gone (First Business Trip)

Today I arrived from Seattle at 6:30AM and this afternoon Daddy flew to Seattle for work. Too bad we did not overlap. Unfortunately, I also missed Daddy at home by <10 minutes before he left for work. So sad.

When I got home from the airport, I was so excited to see you since I have been travelling for almost a week. I was surprised to see you sitting in your high chair watching Elmo (Bad Daddy!) and eating a banana. Your Daddy claimed that you would not eat or drink your milk because you were screaming for Elmo - unfortunately, you have already turned into a couch potato.

When you saw me, you had a big smile and just said 'Mom.' I know I was competing with Elmo so I turned off the video. We played in the living room for a while - you went to a birthday party yesterday and picked up a few goodies from a pinata. You even picked up an Elmo ring which Girlie said you refused to take off all day long. Funny - I found it in your crib when I changed your sheets.

I worked from home today because I took the red-eye flight and also had a doctor's appointment in Brooklyn. I worked in the bedroom while you napped and played with Girlie in the living room. Girlie also took you to the park in the afternoon and said you were chasing all of the other toddlers. You love to run around. . . and sometimes, you fall. Girlie told me you fell on the grass so luckily you don't have a bad boo-boo.

After Girlie left, we went for a walk to the Brooklyn Pier. You loved running around the large square and climbing on the wire fence. Though the wire and poles are close together that you could not fit through, I still kept a close eye on you. (I even resisted buying an ice cream cone so I could watch you and take photos!)
After running around, we went to Starbucks to cool off. I bought you a kid's milk and let you roam around Starbucks since it was empty. You had fun climbing up and down the stairs. You also found some books and canisters with red candies.
Around 8PM, we went home and got ready for your bedtime. I washed your dirty feet, wiped you down with a warm washcloth, changed you into PJs, and brushed your teeth. You picked out a few books and then I put you down at 8:30PM. You were out like a light.

Goodnight, Daddy!
