May & Mike's Baby Shower

Today after swimming class and a short nap, we went to a baby shower for May Kang & Mike Ho who are expecting a boy on August 14 - it was your first baby shower. Daddy works with May and we have become friends with them over the last few months. A few friends of May (Sally, Stephanie and Mia) hosted the brunch at a restaurant in the West Village called Cafe Asean.
It was a great spot because the party was held in the enclosed patio in the back of the restaurant. There were 15-20 adults plus two babies - you and a 10-month old boy named Sean. The group included a mix of family/cousins, the Columbia Business School 'Wives' Club, some of their old friends from Boston and then the random NY friends. (Mike just graduated from Columbia Business School last week with Ben, Sally's husband, and several of the other husbands whose wives were at the shower.) While we were eating, you had fun just sitting on all of the presents.
You had fun flirting with the boys too - at first, you had the eyes for the 10-month old named Sean. At one point, you stuck your finger in Sean's mouth and he tried to bite it.
After Sean, you went after an older guy, Richard, who is May's brother. You starting by bringing Richard a few toys. After toys, you gave him a few hugs and kisses. How sweet.
You also had fun playing with the wrapping paper and the ribbons as May and Mike opened all of their gifts - you put the colorful ribbons around your neck like they were scarves.
Check out the beautiful cake that Mia ordered! Mia also organized a few baby shower games - the first game was a word scramble which was really difficult; Sean's mom, Katherine, won the grand prize by finishing first. The second game was called 'What in your purse?' where certain items were worth points. Unfortunately my team did not win.
While I ate some yummy chocolate cake, Sally distracted you by feeding you some Cheerios. Sally loves playing with you - she always says you are her favorite little girl because you are so happy, smile a lot and have a cute personality. You are quite social and curious to meet everyone you see. At one point during the party, you walked into the main restaurant with Sally and just wanted to say hello to the other guests.
Before we said goodbye, your boyfriend of the day, Richard, gave you some flowers - May was so surprised at how well her brother got along with you. In fact, after today, Richard thinks having a baby niece would be fun too.
