Mom's Gone

Mommy left yesterday (Sunday) for Seattle. We showed her off at the door and you started crying. I think you know that when she has luggage with her she's gone for a while. You and I played for a while inside. It was very rainy yesterday so it was tough to go outside. Later in the day it cleared up and we went out for a walk which you love to do. You're very stubborn though. You don't like to go where I want you to go. You wanted to pick up garbage, walk in puddles, and terrorize the birds.

We came back at 8pm and you were starving, so I fed you some milk and put you to bed. But that wasn't enough so you woke up crying and I fed you some more. That seemed to do it.

I left this morning before you woke up. I think you woke up around 7:30AM. When I got home tonight you were happy to see me as usual. We played around the house but you seemed happy to play by yourself for the most part.

You climbed up into your stroller and seemed happy to do that for a while.

Here's a good shot of your bruise which I don't think we've blogged about. You fell onto the corner of the coffee table a few days ago. Bound to happen I say. Luckily it was a nice cushy part of your face. Your forehead or teeth would have really hurt.

After that you tried out the other stroller. I like to call it the Laz-E-Boy because it's a very comfy stroller compared to the MacLaren.

After that you wanted to play with your flash cards. Your number one favorite thing to do lately. You always know where they are.

You then sit on the floor and go through each one and make a grand mess for mommy or daddy to clean up. But you're learning so we don't mind.

Here's a better shot of the mess.

I fed you milk and again you didn't go down well. You got up again and I fed you some more milk. But even now you're crying. It's about 9:15PM. I think I better pop in again and see if you are okay. I get the feeling I might need to throw you in the Bjorn to get you to fall asleep tonight.

Well I put you in the Bjorn and you just stared at me with a look like, "What do you think you're doing?" I stroked your eyebrows which makes you sleepy and after about 10 minutes you calmed down and closed your eyes. I bounced you around until I heard you snoring and then took you out and put you in the crib. Of course you woke up and cried again when that happened. But I let you be and another 10 minutes later, silence. I just popped in again a few hours later to change your diaper and you were out like a light. I wonder if it was too hot in there or maybe you're sick because you were quite sweaty. Oh well. Sweet dreams.

Poor thing - you must miss Mommy who also misses you terribly. Maybe your teeth are hurting again or you've caught another cold? Maybe Daddy gave you some medicine and baby oragel to relieve the teething pain.

Wish I were home so that I could wear you in the baby bjorn tonight. Hope you finally fell asleep (esp because Daddy will wake up a zombie if you cry all night long).
