Your Grandparents reserved a hotel room in Surprise for me to sleep/work since their house was full with your cousins and your aunt/uncle. Last night I slept for 8 hours straight and decided to go for a run to your grandparents' house which is approximately 3 miles away. Your grandparents were shocked to see me in the morning. You greeted me with a big smile followed by a hug.
At 9:30AM, I tried to put you down for a nap but you refused. You wanted to continue playing around the house with James and Jonathan. Your Grandma drove me back to the hotel so I could do some work - what a drag to be working on a vacation! I snuck out of their house so that you wouldn't cry, but I heard you burst into tears when you realized I was gone. Poor thing.
After lunch, the boys took you for a walk around the block in the stroller. When they returned to the house, you started to cry again because you were so tired and wanted to sleep in the stroller. After another lap around the block, you fell asleep in the stroller and they parked you in the bedroom for your nap.
I finished my work at 3:30pm and your grandpa came to bring me back to the house. The boys were out playing 9 holes of golf with Larry, so it was quiet in the house. I gave you a quick bath and we played in front of the TV. When the boys returned, you enjoyed playing with Jonathan while James and Larry went out to hit another bucket of balls.

Then you tried to make us some dinner with your pots and spatula. Luckily we had plans to go out to dinner at an Italian restaurant called Portofino.

In addition to the kazoo and shakers, you learned how to blow a whistle. Good job, Sophia!

You also helped your grandpa with the crossword puzzle and had fun looking at the Beatles magazine - you were mesmerized by the magazine cover.

My mobile phone rang and you insisted on playing with it. I struggled to get my phone back - I tried to switch and give you the toy phone but you refused. Your grandma had fun pretending to talk to you on the phone. She was surprised to see how reluctant you were to give up the real phone.

You also sat on your grandma's lap for a photo opportunity before wriggling away. What a cute photo with Grandma June.

Your grandma always keeps this orange popping toy around so whenever you see it pop, you will associate the toy with your grandparents. So far, so good.

We had a nice dinner at Portofino - while we were waiting for our table to be set-up, you ran around the strip mall. You loved picking the leaves from a bush and waving to anyone who passed by.

Everyone was surprised by how much you ate tonight. After nibbling on a few pieces of garlic bread, you finished half of a bowl of spaghetti, a meatball and some of my chicken. You also drank some milk that came with your kiddie meal. I could barely eat because you were so hungry. I saved the other half of my dinner so that you can eat it for lunch and dinner tomorrow.

Everyone was also surprised by how much James ate - he finished his whole bowl of mussels. Your grandpa asked me to take a photo to document James' meal - his meals normally consist the 'anti-Atkins' diet: pizza, grapes, candy, chocolate and Dr. Pepper.

Before putting you to bed, we said goodbye to your cousins and your aunt/uncle. They are flying back to Minnesota tomorrow morning so you will be asleep when they leave for the airport. You had a great time playing with your cousins and everyone is looking forward to your next visit over Labor Day weekend.
After you fell asleep in the crib, your grandpa drove me back to the hotel so I could get another good night of sleep. We tried to call your Daddy earlier tonight but he was MIA - probably out drinking with Toshi. See you in the morning.
Daddy, please call us tomorrow when you wake up. I'll post the photos to Foldershare too.

Very good post. So sad to not be there. Looks like everyone is having fun. I met Toshi in Dumbo and we had a few drinks there. Then we met up with Nicole. We went to an Indian restaurant called Devi that was very good. And then at 11 everyone was wiped out and so we all went home.
