Today we started to give you organic whole milk so that we can wean you off of formula. In the morning, Girlie gave you 4oz of milk followed by 2 oz of formula. I don't think you minded the change because you drank both bottles very quickly. You were quite cranky this morning so Girlie read you a book in your crib and then you fell asleep quickly. You must be jet-lagged from our vacation. Poor baby.
You took a long nap and woke up around 10am - Girlie fed you a late breakfast and dressed you to go out to music class. After music class, we played at home for a few hours before our flight to Seattle. We were planning to skip your second nap but you passed out on the boppy after drinking your bottle at 1:30pm. I was on a conference call and Girlie asked me to sneak a peak at you passed out on the floor. After my call ended, I scooped you off the floor and put you into the crib so that you could take a proper nap. We had to wake you up at 3pm to get ready to leave for the airport. What a tired baby you were today.
We arrived at the airport early so you had some time to cruise around the gate area. You walked around to all of the other passengers waiting and stopped to stare at them. I let you run around since you would not have that freedom on the plane.
Luckily we were upgraded to first class where there is more leg room for us. I fed you another bottle of milk during takeoff and then you slept in my lap for about two hours. When you woke up, we played for a while in the seat. One of the flight attendants also enjoyed stopping by to play with you. When you started to get bored and restless, I fed you some dinner - instead of jar food, I gave you some eggplant and cheese ravioli from the first class menu. I was amazed at how much you ate. . .more than half of the bowl!
After dinner, we walked up and down the aisle - I wanted you to fall back asleep but you did not want to sleep any more! After an hour of rocking and bouncing, we sat back down and played with your toys again. I ordered another club soda and you had fun dipping your hands into the glass. I think it reminded you of Daddy since he often lets you put your hands into his near-empty tea mug when he is done (you like to splash your hands in it). The last hour of the flight you started to get cranky so we walked up and down the aisle again. Right before the plane started to descend, you fell asleep in the baby bjorn so I put the water bottle into your mouth several times so that your ears would pop when you swallowed. You woke up a few times but closed your eyes and fell back asleep. Overall, you were pretty good on the flight but I don't know how much longer you will take these coast-to-coast flights with me.
When we landed in Seattle, we picked up a rental car - we ended up with a mini-van. The only other choices were a large pick-up truck or a 12-passenger van. So now Mommy really feels like a suburban mom driving a mini-van.
