The Pond

Today we woke up early and went out to breakfast at one of our favorite spots in the Lower East Side called Clinton Street Bakery. After breakfast, we took the subway to Bryant Park and walked around The Pond which is a small ice skating rink in the park. It was a beautiful day outside - sunny but cold.

When we arrived, there were a few skaters taking lessons and then the ice was cleaned for the general public skating session. After Bryant Park, we walked along Fifth Avenue -- I love the city views of New York City especially the Chrysler Building.

It was cold outside so we warmed up in Barnes & Nobles while Daddy browsed for books. You also love books and enjoyed pulling books and maps off of the shelves. After we fed you a bottle, we walked to Brooks Brothers to see if there were any sportcoats for Daddy on sale but we did not find anything. We were all tired so we went home to relax.

In the evening, we went to dinner at Dumpling Man in the East Village. The place is famous for its cheap dumplings which are made fresh everyday by several Chinese ladies. We sat in front of the glass window where the ladies were rolling the thin dough and making dumplings.

You had fun watching the ladies -- Daddy and I really enjoyed eating the steamed shrimp dumplings and seared pork dumplings. What a bargain for under $30 for dinner for 2!

Every Sunday we plan to try a new Cheap Eats place in the East Village - next time we are going to Pomme Frites for an appetizer and then to Soba Koh for the entrees.
