The Getty Center

While we were in Los Angeles we also visited the Getty Center which is a museum built on top of a hill overlooking the city. It is more known for its architecture than the artwork it houses. It was designed by Richard Meier. There is some more information regarding the building if you click here.

Here's Grandma and Grandpa Evans riding up the trolley to the top of the hill the building is located on. You park down at the bottom and take an automated trolley up to the top.

We walked around a bit to take in the scenery. You were asleep for most of this. You were still quite a bit jetlagged from our 6 hour flight to Los Angeles so you were content to snooze through this.

Mommy had made some brunch reservations at a restaurant located in the museum. By this time you had awoken and were getting a little hungry. You thought that the menu was the food. I don't think it was all that yummy.

Grandma June also lectured you a bit on making sure you eat your red yeast rice and to take in deep breaths. You responded that you lead a very healthy lifestyle and mommy and daddy keep you away from the bad stuff.

After lunch we walked down to the bottom of the Center. There is a nice stream of water and a walkway that works it's way down to the lower part of the center. Down at the bottom is a nice pond. That is what we are looking at here.

Here's another nice view of the Center from the pond.

We worked our way back up to the main building and looked around the gift shop. I let you run off because it was a big open space and you needed to work off some energy. Grandpa Gordon and I took turns keeping an eye on you.

We should have some video of the visit as well. And here's the video. Pretty boring but it's all we have.
