You went down easily at 8:45PM but I heard you screaming around midnight - I was exhausted but went to your room to check on you. You were wide awake and standing up in your crib crying. I picked you up and tried to rock you to sleep but that did not work. After 20 minutes, I decided to put you back down in your crib to see if you'd cry yourself back to sleep. . . but that did not work and Daddy woke up. Daddy went to your room to try to soothe you. . . Daddy held you and walked into the kitchen, but then you started to scream even louder. I got out of bed again to help out and let Daddy go back to sleep since he had to go to work early.
This time, I tried to fall asleep with you on the playmat but you kept rolling around and around. After 20 minutes, you managed to roll around the entire playmat - every time I tried to stop you from tossing and turning with my arm (basically pinning you down to the floor), you started to cry. Next we tried to sleep side by side on the red couch in the living room, but you were too curious and wanted to stand up to look outside the window.
I had another idea to help you fall back asleep - I put you into the baby bjorn and walked in the dark hallway near our front door for 30 minutes until you fell asleep. You were tired but every time I walked out of the hallway, you peeked open your eyes to see where we were. Finally, you fell into a deep sleep - I was thinking of putting you back into your crib but feared that you would wake up. Instead, I unclipped the baby bjorn onto the red couch and fell asleep next to you.
In the morning, your Daddy woke up to the alarm (as soon as it started to buzz - that was a first!) and covered us with another blanket. I thought you might sleep in later but you woke up at 6:30am probably because your stomach was growling?
Your Daddy left for work and it was like any other day for you. . . .our guess is that you are teething again so we will try some Baby Oragel to numb your gums before putting you to bed tomorrow night.
