In the morning, you also scared us by eating a package of desiccant silicon gel from one of your baby shoeboxes. I went down to the gym for a quick workout - when you woke up, you managed to pull a changing table pad from the top of the dresser into your crib. You must have opened the shoebox and found a small white package to put into your mouth - eventually the paper got soggy and you tore it open. Your Daddy freaked out when he saw you in your crib with white stuff in your mouth - the package says "Throw Away - Do Not Eat - Dessicant Silicon Gel." He did not know if it was poisonous so he rushed you into the bathtub and tried to flush your mouth out with water. When I got back from the gym, he was trying to find any information available online. Meanwhile, I called your pediatrician's 24 hour hotline - they paged the doctor on call who told us to call 212-POISONS. Luckily, the agent said it is non-toxic and often used in vitamins but it can be a choking hazard. Phew - that was a close call! We removed everything within your reach so this doesn't happen again.
Once we knew there was no danger, I ran out to grab some soup and sandwiches from Almondine, our favorite bakery. Then we headed out to see my college friends, Kristi & Rob Darzynkiewicz and their two daughters, Meghan (3) and Lauren (20 months), who are visiting Rob's parents in Chappaqua. That is also where the Clintons live in Westchester County. We had planned to drive but with the snow, your Daddy preferred to stay off the roads and to take the train instead. He had not been on a train in years; actually, he remembered we took a train on our honeymoon in Australia from Sydney to the Blue Mountains.
We took the subway from Dumbo to Grand Central Terminal - we arrived 30 minutes early so we walked around the station including the gourmet food market, took a few pictures, and whispered to each other in the atrium in the basement. Ask your Daddy to take you there when you are older.

Our train left the station at 1:50 - the ride is only 50 minutes long. You enjoyed staring out the window and also eating the camera case as usual.

Kristi picked us up from the train station and then we drove to Rob's parents' house - it looked beautiful with the snow covered trees and lakes. You were so excited to have more space to walk around. We were the first ones to arrive - an hour later, some other friends from business school, Kim & Rich Levy and their two kids, Chloe (4 1/2) and Mason (18 months) arrived. Some of Rob's friends from medical school also visited, Houman and his wife plus two sons.

Daddy had fun chasing around Chloe and Meghan and trying to scare them too. You had fun trying to pick heavy bowls from the table. You also tried to bite Daddy's nose and also ate a blue crayon when we weren't looking.

Kristi made mushroom lasagne, garlic bread and salad for dinner. After dinner, we rushed back to the train station to catch the 6:40 express train back to Grand Central Terminal. You were exhausted since you did not take very long naps during the day so you passed out while I was wearing you in the Baby Bjorn - did you notice we bought a new one? This one is an upgrade to the one your aunt gave us; it's the new active carrier with better back support which helps especially now that you weigh over 20 pounds.

One more thing, on Saturday we went to Rickshaw Dumpling House for dumplings and noodle soup. It was very yummy and cheap too! I am sure we'll go back next time we are shopping in Chelsea and looking for a bite to eat. The best part of the meal were the chocolate soup dumplings which were melted chocolate in mochi - I would go back just for the dessert!
