A few hours later, your Daddy put the roast into the oven. Here he is putting a mustard marinade on the roast.
While we waited for the roast to cook, we watched a few travel shows on Harrod’s in London, Tokyo and New Zealand. Then we watched another episode of the TV series Lost. We borrowed the Season 1 DVDs from Toshi, but I only watched the first disc. Your Daddy watched all of them the last time we went to Seattle. You started to rub your eyes again while Daddy was cooking, so I put you into the Baby Bjorn. You fell asleep on me about 15 minutes later. I tried to put you to sleep earlier in the afternoon but every time I put you down into the crib, you woke up and started to cry. This time, I slowly unclipped the Baby Bjorn and put you down in our bed. . . and luckily, you did not wake up. Good timing because dinner was almost ready. We popped open a bottle of Pol Roger champagne and made a toast to our first Christmas with you.
Your Daddy did a great job on dinner – he made a beautiful beef rib roast coated with mustard, rosemary, garlic and a few other herbs. Daddy also made mashed pototaes and white beans as side dishes. It was delicious. We have lots of leftovers for another dinner. After eating your Daddy relaxed and watched TV while I cleaned up.
After I finished cleaning the kitchen, I woke you up because I did not want you to sleep for more than an hour. You started to cry and were a bit more whiney than usual. Your Daddy thought you had a rough day but I thought you were fine. You have become more clingy to me so whenever I leave the room you start to wimper until I come back. Hopefully you will grow out of this phase soon.Your Daddy fed you another bottle on his lap and then we all laid down on the floor together. You don’t like to sit still for more than a few minutes so you were climbing over us, picking toys out of the bag, and trying to reach up onto the stools. At 8PM, I took you to your crib and after a few minutes of crying, you crashed for the night. What a nice Christmas weekend!
