Bonjour from Paris

Tonight after a full day of meetings, we went out for a team dinner to a fantastic French restaurant called Epicure 108 - the owners are Japanese but are classically French trained-chefs. The food was delicious - I am sure it was full of butter and it was mouth-watering. I had the salade gourmande (taste of fois gras, shrimp, cured meats) as an appetizer and the duo of fish (sea bass and scallops) as an entree. The desserts were very interesting too - we shared caramelized bread, small square pastries with melted chocolate inside, creme brulee flavored with Japanese green tea and chocolate truffles. It was so yummy - some day we'll take a family trip to Paris so you can try French food, go shopping and also check out the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and other sites.

After dinner, we took a short walk to burn off a few calories. Similar to the Christmas decorations along Fifth Avenue, there are a few department stores that have large windows showcasing Christmas scenes. The crowds filled the sidewalks and the stores were bustling with last minute shoppers.

Near our hotel at the Plaza Concorde, there is a huge ferris wheel that is lit up at nighttime. It is quite a beautiful sight especially with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
