Weekend Playdates

This weekend we visited a few friends before mommy goes off to Norway on Sunday. Norway is farway from home so we just stuck around Dumbo and had fun with you. We made a silly hat out of an envelope. You don't really like hats anymore and this one was no exception. It was off your head quickly after I put it on.

We went over to see David Liu and his son Cairo. The girls were out at dance class so we had lunch over at their place. We ate some pizza and a meatball parm hero -- the pizza was very good. Cairo wasn't used to people taking his toys so he was a little freaked out when you started to play with his toys. Sometimes he would let you play with them, but sometimes he would come over and take them and hide them under his dad. But then later on he would bring you some toys to play with.

You are getting very comfortable around people now. You were fine crawling up to David and climbing up his legs.

Here's Cairo keeping a close eye on you in case you get into some kind of trouble. He's got the phone close by in case he needs to bring in backup.

Clearly something terrible has happened. You must have taken one of his toys. He is calling his mom to see what can be done about this situation.

You also seem to enjoy moving the furniture around. You stand up behind it and push it along like its a 'walker' for old people.

Rehana and her son Gordon also stopped by to see us on Saturday afternoon. We met them once at their house in Princeton, New Jersey. Gordon is a few months older than you and he can walk very well.

Mommy calls this the "kim chee squat". This is because old Korean men apparently wait at the bustop doing this - sitting down without sitting on anything. You do it naturally. Must be your Korean genes at work.
