Another Lazy Sunday

We flew back to NY last night - we got home around 11pm because the traffic was so bad. I ended up feeding you in the car because it took a long time to go through the Holland Tunnel. When we arrived home, you were quite energetic and were buzzing around the living room. You showed no signs of being tired but we put you down at midnight (which is 9pm in Seattle). Poor jet-lagged baby.

I woke you up at 8:15am to try to get you back on schedule - you were still sleepy but you managed to wake up after a few minutes. Your daddy was dead-asleep until he heard you squeaking around in the living room.

We went to brunch at Five Front and sat outside in their lovely garden. After brunch, we bumped into David Liu and his son Cairo outside their building. You were facing Cairo in your stroller - out of nowhere, Cairo burst into tears. We're not sure what happened - did you stare him down? Two seconds later, you burst into tears too. It took a few minutes for both of you to settle down.

We walked around Dumbo and Vinegar Hill to check out the new stores - we heard that a new Whole Foods-like store just opened up but it is just another upscale deli like Peas & Pickles which is right next to our building. There is also a new nail salon and home decoration store. With all of the new development, we think that the neighborhood will be bustling with new people and new stores over the next year or two.

We were planning to meet Steve and Lisa Owens for dinner in Tribeca to check out their new apartment but they cancelled at the last minute. Instead we went to dinner at Noodle Pudding which is one of our favorites places to eat in the neighborhood - they make the best pasta! Your Daddy savored every bite of his pasta - someday you will enjoy eating there too.
