The Haircut

Well mom kind of screwed up your hair cut last night. Here is a good lesson for when you get older and you will undoubtedly try to cut your own hair. When it's wet and plastered to your head, do NOT cut the hair where you would like it to be cut. Cut BELOW because once it dries, it will have some body and the cut will be much higher than your intentions had wanted it to be.

And here is another piece of advice. When mommy wants to do something, there is very little chance of you or me stopping her. She has no patience and gets all jumpy. She was determined to cut your hair yesterday even though I thought you were too jumpy. Without warning she descended on you and sheared half of your bangs off. When I asked her if she learned her lesson (patience) she replied, "Yes. I'll have daddy do the hair cutting in the future." Sigh. She was so upset that she had trouble going to sleep last night.

Here are the BEFORE pictures so we can ease into this. Apparently you are giving me a raspberry here. Hey! Mommy did the bad haircut not me.

And a cute one of you standing up on the day bed. This is your favorite place to stand up. You never play with your toys now. You look at them and then crawl over to me or mommy or the day bed and use your legs to stand up. You're getting quite good at it. So now I've been holding you until you are steady and then I let go for a second or two until you fall over so you can start to learn to get your own balance. And then you'll be standing on your own and we'll all play.

Here you go. The AFTER pictures. I tried to take the cutest picture I could so it wouldn't look so bad. Clearly your mom would never make it as a hair stylist. She missed a bit on the left. There is a huge bit missed on the right. And a large clump taken out on the far right. Don't ask.

Here is your reaction after I show you the mirror. I don't think you are too happy. "What the hell did you do to me?!" Man is that an uneven cut. It's like she wasn't even trying.

And another cute one all bundled up.

You fell over backward here and you look like you are in an eskimo's papoose. You look very content.

And one last one in black and white.

You don't have to worry. I straightened out your bangs so at least there is some symmetry to your head. It turned out pretty well.

Every time I hear your mom laugh she is looking at this post. She just laughs and laughs.
