Well you have been a very sick baby for some time now. For about 2 weeks you've had diarrhea and have vomited as well. Finally yesterday you seemed to have stabilized. But it's been so hot lately and we had to ride the subway that we think you've caught some new bug.
We put you to sleep last night no problem and then mommy came in to check on you. She noticed you were very warm. She took our thermometer and checked out your temperature. You measure it under the armpit and add 1 or 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Well the thermometer beeped to let it know that it was done measuring and it said 101.5. This meant you were around 102.5 to 103.5 degrees Fahrenheit. You are supposed to be 98.6!
So we freaked out and rushed you to the emergency room. How exciting. This was at 11:00pm. Well we got you there and they measured your temperature to be 102.9. So they gave you some baby tylenol (which you did not like at all) and we waited for another 2.5 hours. They then checked your temperature again and gave you a checkup. You had come down in temperature to about 101.5. Better. So we finally went home and put you back to sleep around 2:00am. We were tired! You didn't seem to mind being hot though. You didn't cry until they made you eat the tylenol.
Looks like you are hot again today. 101 this time. And you puked again. It seems like you'll never get better again. Mommy thinks it's her fault because we just stopped breast feeding you. But in reality it's good to get sick. Your immune system needs practice and getting sick gives it a chance to convert antigens into antibodies so you can fight off sicknesses in the future. We just wish you'd get a bit of a break between sicknesses!
