The flight was very crowded - since you are a baby, we are the first ones to board the plane so that we can get settled before everyone else boards. My tummy started to ache while waiting so I went to the bathroom a few times, but it was too hard to go while wearing you in the Baby Bjorn. I breastfed you while we were taking off and you fell asleep in my lap for about 30 minutes. After taking off, I felt even worse so I asked an older lady sitting behind us to hold you while I went to the bathroom. Luckily you did not cry while this lady held you -- in fact, I later found out that she and her husband run a daycare center in New Jersey! You were a total angel on the flight and everyone sitting around us wanted to play with you.
When we landed in Seattle, we first went to the grocery store to buy diapers, baby food and some snacks for the hotel. We checked into the Marriott Residence Inn near Microsoft and dropped off our bags before driving over to Walter and Angela's house for a BBQ. Walter and I are friends from business school; Walter joined MSN and moved to Seattle eight months ago; Angela is Walter's wife and they have a one-year old son, Luke, but he was sick and already went to bed before we arrived. Another bschool friend, Alan Supple, was in Seattle for business from Belgium so we had a good time catching up while eating grilled salmon and kebabs. Around 8:30pm, you started to get cranky because it was very late for you - 11:30pm New York time, so we left early so I could put you in the crib.

That guy looks sketchy huh?

This guy too!
Luckily you fell right asleep, slept through the night and woke up at 6:45am like you normally do in NYC. I fed you some breastmilk and then dropped you off at the back-up daycare center. You seem to enjoy daycare in Seattle - the facilities are super clean, the teachers are very nice, and there are so many toys to choose from.
