Lazy Sunday

Today we spent most of the day around the house -- in the morning, we went for a short walk around Dumbo while your daddy slept. We had to be home by 9am because our groceries from FreshDirect were being delivered. Then I went downstairs to workout in the gym while your daddy put everything into the fridge. While you were napping, we made your food for the next few weeks -- we steamed and pureed cauliflower, peas and kale with potato.

Unfortunately you still have a bad case of the runs -- yesterday while we were out shopping at BuyBuyBaby, we had a near-diaster of runny poop while you were still in the Baby Bjorn. Luckily, we took you out before the poop leaked everywhere. We changed your diaper and your outfit too -- I was happy it happened while we were in a baby store instead of when we were walking around Central Park earlier in the day.

When you woke up, I tried to feed you some mashed bananas but you had no interest. (Your daddy is quite happy that you do not have a sweet tooth like I do.) We went for a late brunch at Alias on Clinton Street -- we tried to go to Clinton Street Bakery but the wait for a table was 90 minutes. Next time we have to go very early in the morning for the first seating.

After brunch, we came back home and I took a nap while you were napping too. I love napping on the weekends but rarely do it anymore.

In the evening, one of my closest friends Karen Short dropped by to meet you for the first time. You just stared at Karen for the first half-hour -- you like to stare at any new person before you let him/her hold you. We walked down to Five Front for dinner and sat outside in their lovely garden. Karen held you while your daddy and I ate our entrees. After dinner, we fed you another bottle and put you down for bed by 9pm. Overall, we had a very nice weekend seeing my friends and walking around Central Park for some exercise. Your daddy and I need to shed a few pounds before the summer ends!
