Fourth of July

We went over to Carol's friend David Liu to celebrate the 4th of July this year. He has a nice rooftop cabana in the building he lives in. He's just a couple of buildings away from us. There were a lot of people there as you can see from the photo. There's mommy with you in the Baby Bjorn. It was late so you were tired.

Before we went over we had breakfast at Bubby's which is just down the road from us. You look very pretty in your red dress. You wore red. Daddy wore blue. Mommy wore white. Red white and blue!

Before the fireworks started 4 helicoptors flew up the East River and I was lucky enough to get a shot of them just after the sun had gone down behind the bridge.

Here's the view we had. Pretty nice huh? Brooklyn Bridge is on the right and Manhattan is off in the distance on the right side. If it was light out in this picture, I think you would be able to see the Statue of Liberty in the distance behind the fireworks.

Here's my favorite shot. See the barge on the water? That's where the fireworks were being launched from. It's all blurry because I had to take a long exposure shot. I think these were about 10-15 seconds long. So the barge moves around a bit during that time and you get a blurry picture.

Look at this one. There were a couple of red fireworks that went off in a row and lit up the whole city. You can also see the smoke from the fireworks that were set off earlier.

Another one of my favorites. You can see the blur of the boat again.

Well that's it. You didn't see much because you were fast asleep. A lot of the moms at the party wanted to hold you because you were the youngest baby by far. I think they all missed when their kids were younger and smaller like you were. Now their kids are older and don't like to spend so much time with their parents. I expect you'll be like that when you turn 10 or so and then we'll have to go find young babies to hold :).
