Today is my birthday and yesterday was my first Mother's Day (it's a Hallmark holiday). On Sunday night, we went out to dinner in SoHo to celebrate with our friend Lisa Choi Owens (her birthday is May 12). You had fun watching Lisa because she is very expressive when she talks. You would not fall back asleep so we took turns entertaining you during dinner -- you also had quite a few admirers in the restaurant. On Monday night, we went out to dinner in Midtown with our Seattle friend Michael Robinson who was in NY for a conference. Again, you woke up during dinner and wanted to play with us during dinner. Luckily the restaurant was not too busy on a Monday night and no one could hear you when you got fussy and started to cry. Funny thing is that your dad forgot it was my birthday today -- I had to remind him on our way home.
By the way, when we take you out to dinner with us, we put you in a travel bed bag. For the first few months, you would fall asleep in the bag on the way to the restaurant and then sleep through the entire dinner. Now that you are more alert and curious, you tend to wake up after 15 minutes and want to check out the scene. You have eaten at quite a few hip places in your first few months of life: Next Door Nobu, Schiller's Liquor Bar, Inoteca, Blue Ribbon Bakery, Butter, Beacon, Lure Fishbar, Employees Only, 8 1/2 Brasserie, and others.
