This weekend we took you out to see some art. We met up with our friends Toshi and Nicole and first saw an exhibit at the Japanese Society Gallery in Midtown on the east side (near the United Nations). It was curated bya Takashi Murakami, who we saw once in Seattle. The exhibit was called Little Boy: The Arts of Japan's Exploding Subculture. You would have liked it because most of it was toys or art based off of toys.
We then went to Central Park where there was some more art done by one of the artists at the exhibit. It was a funny piece of art called Yellow Elephant Underwear/Kiddy Elephant Underwear. It was a sculpture of 2 elephants (a baby and her mother) and they had underwear on. You can see a picture of it here. Notice that between us is cute pastel colored elephant poop!
After that we continued the Japanese theme by having sushi at a restaurant on the Lower East Side called Jewel Bako. It was very good but you became hungry and restless and mommy had to take you home after she was done eating.
